Help Feed Belle Grove Families This Summer

Belle Grove Elementary needs help keeping families fed this summer, and we would love for our community to jump in with us.

Gift cards will help Belle Grove purchase food for families during the weeks when school meals are unavailable.

We will match community donations

The Jen Holden Group will make our own gift card donation, and we will also match the total amount of gift card donations our community sends in.

Why this matters

When school lets out, many students lose access to the breakfast and lunch they receive during the school week. At Belle Grove, nearly 90% of students come from low-income families, and through AACPS’s Community Eligibility Provision program, every student receives free breakfast and lunch during the school year.

But summer is different. Belle Grove is working hard to keep families fed during the weeks when school meals are unavailable, and they are asking for grocery gift card donations to purchase food for families in need.

A grocery gift card may feel small, but for a family trying to get through the summer without the daily support of school meals, it can mean everything.

How to help

Belle Grove is collecting gift cards that can be used for groceries this month. Gift cards from Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, or another grocery retailer are all helpful.

Why Belle Grove means so much to us

We love this school. We love these families. And we are so grateful for the teachers and staff who show up every day for these kids in such meaningful ways.

Over the last few years, The Jen Holden Group has been honored to support Belle Grove Elementary through teacher donations, Field Day supplies, and holiday toy collections. It has been a joy to watch these students grow, and it is truly an honor to support them again this summer.

Belle Grove would love to have all donations by June 26.
